New Sandbox
Our neighbors generously gave us a toy sandbox and slide for Caroline. I think Peder had a ladybug sandbox (this one is a turtle) that I had gotten from a garage sale. We gave it away long ago. Now Peder is enjoying Caroline's sandbox just as much as she is. I forgot how messy sand can be, though!

Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star
Caroline has learned how to sing (okay, it's an approximation of the song) "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star". Larry, what do you think? Is she an alto or soprano? Shall we save her a seat in the choir?

Happy Birthday Daddy!
Peder and Mommy made a cake for Daddy! I think Peder enjoyed it more than any of us. Any excuse to eat cake. Daddy is older than one candle, but we didn't have enough candles to represent his age! Happy Birthday Daddy! When you blew out the candle, what was your wish??

Soccer
Peder's soccer season is winding down. I took Caroline to Saturday's game to watch him. The games were almost cancelled because of all the rain we got recently. Mark is one of the coaches. They haven't had a very good season this year, but hopefully they had some fun. Caroline has trouble understanding that she can't run out there on the field to help. She was good at cheering for the team and for Peder though.

Easter Egg Hunt
At church after the Easter service, Peder and Caroline watched a short film on Easter while they colored their Easter bags. Caroline didn't do much coloring but she tried. She loves to color on things that shouldn't be colored on (walls, tables, blinds, etc.). This year was Caroline's 1st Easter Egg Hunt. Unfortunately, because it was wet outside we had to have it inside. The older kids were separate from the younger for obvious reasons and Peder gladly went with the big kids. The little kids were in the fellowship hall and the eggs were "hidden" by the youth all over the floor (ha! not too hard of a job). Daddy was Caroline's assistant and followed her around with the bag. After the first few eggs in the bag, she got the hang of it. It was cute to watch.
Happy Easter!
We keep having to remind Peder that the real reason for Easter is to celebrate Christ's resurrection. I thought this picture kind of combined the two and Peder likes it. He says "Cool!"

In Peder's Room
Peder's bedroom is usually off limits to Caroline, so when she gets in, it's a treat for her (and she knows it). It used to be that I didn't want her to swallow any of the tiny Legos and other play items he has. That's not as big a concern now (although she'll still put some things in her mouth), so I'll let her in occasionally. Lately, whenever she's been in there, she loves to get in Peder's bed and "take a nap". She runs to get her "b" (her blanket) and jumps in the bed. Peder sometimes joins in the fun and doesn't usually mind her in his bed as long as she doesn't "slobber".

Blueberry Muffins...
Caroline has always been a great eater, but her love of blueberries is kind of new. I had six blueberry muffins yesterday and Caroline demolished four of them. It was clear after muffin #1 that all she was interested in were the blueberries. So, she picked them all out and set aside what was left over next to her placemat and said "All done!" Of course, all of this happened after her bath which explains why she's naked and her hair is wet.

"24-hour" Girl's Weekend
Every year, friends of mine in my Bible study at church get together for a girl's weekend at a bed and breakfast somewhere in north Texas. It's actually only about 24 hours and not for the weekend, but who cares! We visited a dear friend of ours who moved last year to Waco with her family. We sure miss her and wanted to spend some time with her and with each other. This year we stayed at a wonderful B&B called The Cotton Palace. If you're looking for a place to stay in Waco, this is it! Although there were a few other guests at the house, we still made ourselves at home downstairs and stayed up late, ate chocolate and drank (a little) wine. Oh, and we talked A LOT. Can't wait 'til next year, girls!
One of our hosts was Dutch. He was such a delightful host and served us a delicious breakfast on Saturday morning. He didn't take credit for the meal. His daughter cooked it. We all liked it, as you can see below:

I'm a Big Kid
Peder had two friends over from school this afternoon and Caroline was SO excited to sit with the big kids to have a snack. She has to be a part of everything that Peder does. She loves her big brother and he's so good to her (most of the time!).
