Last night was not a happy time at our house. Caroline came home from her sitter yesterday morning because she just wasn't herself. Later, in the evening, she threw up all over Mark AND his UT shirt. I had to laugh thinking that maybe that's what she thought about his school. (Although Mark and I did meet and marry in Austin, I'm still an Aggie, you know!) Fortunately for him, he had another one and was able to wear that while he watched the game.
To make things worse, Mark was upset about the Championship game against Alabama. Colt McCoy is just precious and I WAS sorry to see him hurt and unable to finish the game.
Sad night for Caroline and Mark.
But all is better with Caroline. She had a good night and had a good day at home. Not much of an appetite, but that will come soon.
She's feeling so much better that she got hold of a permanent black marker and drew on the couch, her chair and herself (I was on the phone with a co-worker of mine and got distracted). Did you know that sunscreen takes off permanent marker??? Looked it up on the internet and it actually works. It's what swimmers use during swim meets to get marker off their arms when they compete.

Top Phrases of 2009
Caroline's Most Repeated Phrases of 2009:
1. "I......you." (she omits the "love" in "I love you." Now we all say it.)
2. "I tooted." (no explanation needed)
3. "I try!" (usually insistent and regarding something she is not capable of doing by herself.)
4. "I want Barney." (several Barney VHS tapes that are 20 years old are her favorite. I refuse to buy any Barney DVDs so I hope these last through her "Barney" period.)
5. "Where my 'nother one?" (regarding shoes or socks)
6. "Uh, oh" (could be anything) and sometimes followed by "It's a MESS."
7. "I wanna hold my mommy." (meaning she wants me to hold her)
8. "Mmmm, it's nummy." (Caroline ate something good. Hopefully it's food.)
9. "Where my wankie?" (Caroline has many blankets but her favorite is Peder's old blue blanket.)
10. "No, it's mine's." (anything she touches is hers, especially if it's pretty or if it's pink or if it's Peder's.)
11. "Noooookay." (She just started saying this "word" this fall. It's a combo of "no" and "okay". She starts off saying "no" and then progresses into "okay". She thinks she doesn't want something and then realizes that, hey, maybe she does!)

1. "Stop it, Caroline!" (ahhh, siblings)
2. "When will she stop liking Barney???" (see #4 on Caroline's list)

11. "Where is my _______?" (we're usually on our way out the door and/or late to something, of course)

It's 2010!
Wow! Ten years ago life was different for us! Peder and Caroline weren't around yet and I was in the middle of graduate school! Now we've got two beautiful children (who are peacefully sleeping right now--I always think fondly of them while they sleep) and life is good!
Happy New Year everyone!
